
Lady Victoria Colliery
now the National Mining Museum Scotland.
The lady Victoria Collery was opened in the 1890s Newtongrange by the Lothian Coal Company as the first Scottish Super Pit. Production ended in 1981 after which some of the buildings were developed into the National Mining Museum Scotland. This etching is of the preserved colliery winding gear with the Pentland hills in the background.
