Inverness
the River Ness waterfront from Friars Bridge
The second of two etching of the Inverness waterfront viewed from Friars Bridge. The spires are, left to right, Old High Church, Free North Church, St Columba’s High Church and the "Town Steeple", which was originally built as a toll booth and courtroom. On the hill to the right is Inverness Castle, the last of a succession of castles built on the site. The Castle was used as a courthouse until 2020, it has now been renovated and has opened as as a visitors' centre, The Inverness Castle Experience. The fast flowing River Ness in the foreground is just 7 miles long, flowing out from Loch Ness to the Moray Firth just beyond Inverness.
